Affecting as many as 1 in 10 women, endometriosis is a common cause of pelvic pain and infertility, as well as less recognized symptoms of constipation, leg pain, fatigue, depression, and urinary complaints. While some women may improve on medications, the most effective long term strategy for treatment is surgical excision. Excision is a technique that removes endometriosis at its root, with far less frequent opportunity for recurrence than typical ablation offered by most physicians. Fellowship trained in complex gynecologic surgery, Drs Fogelson and Mohling are among the few physicians in the country able to offer care for even the most complex cases of endometriosis, including endometriosis of the bowel, urinary tract, and thoracic cavities.
Do I need to have endometriosis to see a NWEPS Physician?
Absolutely not. While there are many options for non-endometriosis care, Dr. Fogelson and Mohling are some of Oregon's most trusted practitioners for all manner of gynecologic concerns including fibroids, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse, as well as routine gynecologic care. Our practice style allows us to spend ample time with each patient to make sure all issues are addressed to satisfaction, with a thorough plan for resolution, whether that be surgical or non-surgical.
